Samsonic Trading Co. is a family-operated distributor of brand-name consumer electronics and personal-care products. We own the Pursonic brand and distribute the Franklin line of electronic reference devices in the United States.
A young man born in Cairo, Egypt, Nessim Hadef emigrated to New York in 1968. In 1971, he started a small business with big dreams at 160 West 28th Street in Manhattan. For the next fifty years he worked relentlessly, representing the consumer electronics names that ended up on every retail shelf in America, and in 2012 he launched Pursonic — our own line of oral-care, personal-care, wellness, and household goods — from the same building.
Today his family runs the business with the same passion and enthusiasm. Same address. Same phone. Same standards.
Samsonic Trading Co. has been a consumer-electronics distribution business in New York City since 1971 — family-owned, family-run, and still headquartered at 160 West 28th Street in the same Manhattan building where we started.
Our work is placing the brands that run America's retail shelves — Altec Lansing, Braun, Norelco, Oster, Remington, Wahl, Sony, Panasonic, Canon, Motorola, Olympus, Bushnell, Duracell, Kodak — into the right stores at the right time. We service mass retailers, regional chains, and independent shops across every channel where consumer electronics and personal-care goods move.
In 2012 we launched Pursonic, our own line of oral-care, personal-care, wellness, and household electronics. It has since grown to hundreds of SKUs moving through mass retailers, regional chains, and the independent drug and housewares channel.
We are also the U.S. distributor of Franklin electronic reference products — the talking dictionaries, bilingual translators, and calculators that have sat on school, office, and travel shelves for four decades.
We exhibit every year at CES in Las Vegas, at ASD Market Week, and at the International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago. If you're in the buying seat at a major retailer, we'd rather introduce ourselves in person than over email.

We've operated out of 160 West 28th Street in Manhattan since we opened our doors. A family business, still in the same building, still answering the phone ourselves.
We built the business representing names buyers already recognize — Altec Lansing, Sony, Panasonic, Braun, Norelco, Franklin. Nothing gets into our catalog by accident.
